The year 2017 will be a year of sequels for Bollywood, as many hit franchises will take their stories forward. From Salman Khan gearing-up to play a RAW agent again, to the much awaited Bahubali saga, here’s a guide to the six big sequels that must be on your list to watch this year!
Jolly LLB 2
Akshay Kumar has stepped up to play a Birbal-like lawyer in ‘Jolly LLB 2’. After the success of the courtroom drama ‘Jolly LLB’, the makers have promised yet another hilarious ride with a tight script with ‘Jolly LLB 2’. Acting stalwart Annu Kapoor has joined the cast while Huma Qureshi will romance Akshay Kumar in this flick, which is based in Lucknow. ‘Jolly LLB 2’ will hit the screens on February 10.
Badrinath Ki Dulhania
Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt are all set to charm the audiences with their chemistry in one more rustic love story in ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’. Produced by Karan Johar, this Bollywood film is a sequel to ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’, which received a lot of love from the cinemagoers. Varun and Alia promise desi romance in ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, the film which is set to release on March 10.
Sarkar 3
Celeb and Hindi cinema’s powerhouse performer Amitabh Bachchan has joined hands with Ram Gopal Varma for yet another political saga in the form of ‘Sarkar 3’. Big B returns as Subhash Nagare, supported by a powerful cast including celebs and cinema stars Manoj Bajpayee, Jackie Shroff and Ronit Roy. Yami Gautam will be seen in an intense avatar in this movie, seeking revenge. Check with director RGV and he promises some extreme drama in ‘Sarkar 3’. ‘Sarkar 3’ will release on March 17.
Bahubali: The Conclusion
‘Bahubali: The Conclusion’ is one of the most awaited sequels of 2017. Just like its predecessor, the second part promises experience of larger-than-life cinema one more time. Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia promise enthralling experience of war sequences shot on expensive sets. ‘Bahubali: The Beginning’ had the audience going gaga over the film and left everyone waiting for more! ‘Bahubali: The Conclusion’ is scheduled for a release on April 28.
Judwaa 2
Varun Dhawan is all set to recreate the magic of ‘Judwaa’, blockbuster hit of the 1990s, starring Salman Khan. The film was an action-comedy with hit music. Reprising that role, Varun Dhawan’s ‘Judwaa 2’ will go on the floors soon. He will be seen in a double role as estranged twin opposite Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu. Salman Khan will have a special appearance in the Bollywood film. ‘Judwaa 2’ will release on September 29, 2017.
Tiger Zinda Hai
Celebs and cinema stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will return to the silver screen together with ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. A change of director for the sequel, from Kabir Khan to Ali Abbas Zafar, seems to be the only major one. Katrina’s character will have a negative shade while Salman Khan will return as a RAW agent. The film will be shot in Austria and several foreign locales. ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ will release on December 22.
