Akshay Kumar’s ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ has been slapped with another legal notice. This time, a Rajasthan based filmmaker has sent a notice for violation of Copyright Act citing that the song ‘Hans Mat Pagli’ has been copied from his recently released regional movie. Director-producer Vipin Tiwari has stated that ‘Has Mat Pagli Pyar Ho Jayega’ is a famous song from his film ‘Laadli’, which released on April 7. Vipin Tiwari reportedly stated that the registration of the song is with them and that ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ has infringed the Copyright Act by using it in their film.

While ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ is set to release on August 11, the local filmmaker wants scenes and promos removed with regards to the copyright infringement, and wants a stay on the film’s release. “I hereby call upon you to immediately withdraw the promos in this regard, used without permission of my client, and further, not to release the movie and to give reply to the said infringement of copyright on punchline and use of title song within a period of seven days from receipt of this notice,” mentioned the notice shot to producers Neeraj Pandey, Viacom 18 Media Private Limited and two others by Tiwari’s lawyers AK Dube and Deepak Sharma.

This is the second legal controversy faced by Neeraj Pandey-produced ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’. A few days back, documentary filmmaker Praveen Vyas alleged that the idea behind this Bollywood film has been lifted from his 2016 documentary, ‘Manini’. The writers of ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ laughed off the controversy and were armed to file a defamation case against the filmmaker.
