Akshay Kumar is playing the spoilsport for Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s ‘Namastey England’, as the actor has refused to part with the rights of two of the titles in the ‘Namastey’ series. “Akshay and Vipul own the Intellectual Property (IP) rights to the ‘Namastey’ series, and when the filmmaker approached him for the rights, the actor refused to part with the titles ‘Namastey London 2’ or ‘Namastey England’. He told Vipul that he may want to produce and act in ‘Namastey England’ later. So the filmmaker had no choice but to change the title to ‘Namastey Canada’,” reveals an insider to a tabloid. Vipul Shah had signed up Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra for the sequel as Akshay got busy with ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Padman’, ‘2.0’, ‘Gold’, ‘Mogul’ and ‘Crack’. Vipul is to soon make an official announcement of launching ‘Namastey Canada’.

And while the title rights controversy gets sorted with Akshay Kumar, Vipul Shah’s film continues to make headlines for its cast as well. Jacqueline Fernandez was reportedly approached to play the second lead in ‘Namastey Canada’ but the actress turned down the offer as she didn’t want to play second fiddle to Parineeti Chopra. The role has now been lapped up by model Aisha Buzz. Jacqueline has some big releases lined up in terms of ‘A Gentleman’ with Sidharth Malhotra, ‘Judwaa 2’ with Varun Dhawan, ‘Drive’ with Sushant Singh Rajput and director Remo D’Souza’s untitled next with Salman Khan. Hence she was not interested in playing a role subordinate to Parineeti. However, Vipul Shah maintains that he has not approached anyone for this character.
