Two decades in Bollywood, and celeb and cinema icon Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has proved to be a star who has been very clear about her choices in the entertainment world. Debuting with Tamil film ‘Iruvar’, Ash’s career also boasts of some plump Hollywood films. “I started with a Tamil film and over the years I have very obviously made it clear with my choices that I am an actor, and it doesn’t matter where the movie is being made, in which language or with whom. I have never been the one to cater to the expected norms. I have carved my own journey and I think that my career is proof enough of that,” says the actress proudly. Attending a promotional event of Vikram Phadnis’ Marathi directorial debut ‘Hrudayantar’, Aishwarya Rai states that she is open to signing up for a Marathi film, as well as any language movie, “I would love to work in any language presented to me, as long as the script excites me and I am happy to work with the team.” Though she may not have done many regional films, Ash is certainly open to doing them now.
After a short break from 2011 to 2014, when she gave birth to daughter Aaradhya Bachchan, Aishwarya returned to the silver screen with ‘Sarbjit’ and ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. To continue her Bollywood journey, Ash will soon be seen in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s ‘Fanney Khan’ and is also in talks with a movie co-starring husband Abhishek Bachchan.
