Karan Johar: I feel the need to leave an archive of films behind

Bollywood’s one of the most celebrated filmmaker-cum-TV celebs, Karan Johar opens up his plans, past, present and future, cinema being at the top

Karan Johar has managed to pull crowds at the theatres with his entertaining Bollywood directorial ventures. He is also a playful judge on the small screen. Bollywood-cum-TV celebrity in a true sense, Karan Johar says, “I am a filmmaker and want to remain one. The additional things are hobbies and a few are a result of my brand value.”

With many things on hand, Karan confesses to having little time for his filmy passion. “My primary passion is to direct films and I want to do only that. I try to make one film a year or at least in a couple of years, but gaps have started increasing. I will have to adjust my schedule so that I can direct movies. I am not getting any younger. I feel I need to leave an archive of many movies behind,” says Karan Johar. The Bollywood filmmaker will soon go behind the camera for the film full of celebs of the cinema world, Ranbir Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma and Fawad Khan starrer ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’.
