October box office: Varun Dhawan’s film may open to 7 crore collection
Despite less advance booking, the makers are hopeful that tables will turn and Varun Dhawan-starrer ‘October’ will collect Rs 7 crore at the box office on its opening day
Varun Dhawan looks convincing as a hotel management student in ‘October’, which released today, April 13. The film registered a poor occupancy on its opening day but trade suggests that the Shoojit Sircar directorial may rake in around Rs 7 crore on its first day of hitting the screens. After two ‘masala’ entertainers in the form of ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ and ‘Judwaa 2’, Varun’s emotional portrayal in ‘October’ will come as a welcome break to his fans. The film is made on a budget of Rs 30-40 crores and has released on 1,500 screens. Predictions are that ‘October’ may rake in Rs 25 crore by the end of its opening weekend if there is enough positive word of mouth publicity.
