Kaalakaandi box office collection: Saif Ali Khan’s film already in profits!
Despite low box office collection, Saif Ali Khan-starrer ‘Kaalakaandi’ is already making profits, thanks to its music, satellite and digital rights which were sold at Rs 11 crore
Saif Ali Khan’s quirky film ‘Kaalakaandi’ has recorded a low start at the box office, collecting Rs 1.25 crore on Friday, Rs 1.20 crore on Saturday and Rs 1.40 crore on Sunday. The film received mixed reviews and failed to pull the urban crowds as ‘Kaalakaandi’ is set in the metro city of Mumbai. Interestingly though, all the box office figures are only adding to the profits of ‘Kaalakaandi’ despite collecting only Rs 3.85 crore in three days, as the film has already recovered its investment! According to trade reports ‘Kaalakaandi’ was made on a tight budget of Rs 7 crore and an additional Rs 4 crore were spent on the film’s marketing and promotions. The film’s music, satellite and digital rights of ‘Kaalakaandi’ fetched Rs 11 crore, leaving the box office collection figures as the film’s clear profit.
