Neeraj Vora, who directed and wrote many films in Bollywood, including ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ and ‘Golmaal’, passed away after fighting a long battle with brain stroke
Director, actor, writer and a man with great comic timing, Neeraj Vora passed away today at the age of 54. The writer of Aamir Khan’s hit film ‘Rangeela’, Neeraj Vora had suffered a brain stroke in October last year following which he was in coma. Producer Firoz Nadiadwala had reportedly converted a room into a make-shift Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at his house, where Neeraj Vora had been recuperating. Last night when his condition deteriorated, Vora was shifted to Criti Care hospital in Juhu, Mumbai, where he breathed his last in the wee hours of Thursday, December 14, 2017. Neeraj Vora was set to direct ‘Phir Here Pheri 3’ but due to his ill health, the film did not take off.
Late Neeraj Vora marked his directorial debut with Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Khiladi 420’ in 2000. He was the writer of comic hits like ‘Golmaal’, ‘Awara Paagal Deewana’ and the first part of ‘Hera Pheri’. After the super success of ‘Hera Pheri’, Vora got a chance to direct its second part, ‘Phir Hera Pheri’. Not just behind the camera, Vora also became famous in front of it. Neeraj Vora has acted in films like ‘Satya’, ‘Company’, ‘Dhadkan’, ‘Baadshah’ and ‘Bol Bachchan’. His last outing in the field of acting was in Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar-starrer ‘Welcome Back’ which released in 2015.
