Shahid Kapoor made a dapper appearance at the ongoing International Film Festival of India (IFFI 2017) and spoke his heart out on the delayed release of his massive project ‘Padmavati’. “This is not the first time that I have been a part of a film which is controversial. I remember, ‘Udta Punjab’ also had a lot of drama before it came out. But I am very optimistic because eventually ‘Udta Punjab’ released and was loved by people. Sometimes, films of this nature are more difficult to get through to the people. I choose to be optimistic and believe in the process,” said Shahid.
The ‘Padmavati’ row has escalated to such an extent that the film’s leading lady Deepika Padukone and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali have been threatened with beheading. Commenting on the same, Shahid added, “Any kind of conversation which is violent in nature is not nice. It is not in good taste and is absolutely uncalled for. This is not the time to be angry or lose your cool as there are enough people already doing that. I am sure that ‘Padmavati’ will release.”
