Anil Kapoor will sing two songs in his upcoming Bollywood film ‘Fanney Khan’. Trained under Chote Iqbal, Anil Kapoor has earlier sung in ‘Chameli Ki Shaadi’
Anil Kapoor is all set to croon for his next, ‘Fanney Khan’. The actor, who plays a failed singer, will be wielding the mike to sing two songs in ‘Fanney Khan’. Anil Kapoor has already got a grey hairdo for his role in the Bollywood film, and will now start preparations to go through his musical journey. ‘Fanney Khan’ will feature Divya Dutta as Anil Kapoor’s wife while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will play a singing sensation, with Rajkummar Rao being her love interest. ‘Fanney Khan’ is inspired from Dutch film ‘Everybody’s Famous’ and is directed by Atul Manjrekar, with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra producing the project.
Very few must be aware that Anil Kapoor is a trained semi-classical singer! While he has sung the title song of iconic film ‘Chameli Ki Shaadi’ in 1986, in which he also played the main character, Anil Kapoor’s name has featured as singer in films like ‘Woh 7 Din’ (1983) and ‘Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai’ (2000). He also did Bappi Lahiri-composed album ‘Welcome’ (not to confuse with the film with the same name) with Salma Agha in 1989. Although later he received many offers for playback, the actor learnt singing not to build a professional career out of that, rather so that he could lip-sync better in films. Anil Kapoor has trained under Chote Iqbal, who is reportedly behind some of the famous singers and musicians like Nitin Mukesh and Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar of Laxmikant-Pyarelal fame. With such exposure backing him in the singing arena, Anil Kapoor might dish out some promising songs in ‘Fanney Khan’.
