24 season 2: Sikander Kher masters the Eastern UP dialect

24: Season 2 is all set to hit the small screen in July with double the action, drama and thrill. Kickstarting his journey on small screen, Sikander Kher will be seen essaying the role of a drug lord Haroon Sherchan whose roots lie in Eastern UP.

Adding a lot of drama to the storyline, Sikander’s character will be Jai Singh Rathod’s chief nemesis. He will be seen fighting it out and doing everything possible to get his brother Roshan Sherchan (Ashish Vidyarthi) released from jail. While acting comes naturally to Sikander, in order to get into the skin of the character he has taken extensive efforts for the perfect dialogue delivery.

In fact, the actor spent hours learning the Eastern UP dialect and decided to make it a part of everyday conversations. Sikander said, “Eastern UP dialect has a very distinct sound and articulation; it is something that I wanted to bring into my character. I started working on the language and diction to perfect it. There were times when I would rehearse it even behind the cameras while having conversations with Anil sir and other cast members.”

24: Season 2 starts on Jul 23, 2016.
