Shahid Kapoor: I lose all confidence before film’s release
As Shahid Kapoor-starrer ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ releases on September 21, the actor confesses that he loses confidence just before the film hits the screens
Shahid Kapoor is busy promoting his upcoming Bollywood film ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, which will hit the screens this Friday, September 21. Like most other celebs and cinema stars, Shahid too feels the jitters just before his flick releases. “I usually get very nervous before a film’s release. I lose all confidence and start second-guessing that things can go wrong. I go into a useless mode, when everything is done. But this time around, I am very excited,” says Shahid. ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ is a social drama, based on the issue of electricity theft. “The script touched me and I felt that this story had to be told. If people feel the story, there could be some change in the issue,” adds Shahid explaining why he chose to do this film.
Shahid Kapoor had called off his vacation for ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’. The actor had planned to go on holidays with his wife Mira Rajput and daughter Misha Kapoor in June. However, since the last schedule of ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ was to resume in June, Shahid had decided to give priority to his film and then take a break, more so as Mira was expecting. The film was also in news for a long time because of financial crunch in May and Shahid’s ill health on the sets before that, which was in March 2018. While ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ is directed by Shree Narayan Singh, Bhushan Kumar salvaged the project by financing it as its earlier production house, KriArj Entertainment, exited the project owing to money troubles.
