Ram Lakhan remake: Shahid Kapoor to play elder brother to Ranveer Singh?

‘Kaminey’ star Shahid Kapoor has been reportedly roped in to play the elder brother to ‘Gunday’ actor Ranveer Singh in remake of yesteryear Bollywood hit ‘Ram Lakhan’. Celebs director and producer pair, Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar have joined hands for this Bollywood venture, in association with Subhash Ghai’s Mukta Arts. Ghai is the director of ‘Ram Lakhan’, which released at the Bollywood box office in 1989 and was declared a huge hit.

Rumours were rife that powerhouse performer Ranveer Singh has been cast in the role of Lakhan, originally played by Anil Kapoor. The celebrity makers of ‘Ram Lakhan’ were apparently on the lookout for the character of Ram, which was played by Jackie Shroff in the original film.

If reports are to be believed then Shahid Kapoor has been zeroed in for Ram’s character in ‘Ram Lakhan’. In the past, names like Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Sidharth Malhotra and Arjun Kapoor were rumoured to be associated with this cult revenge drama. However, it looks like Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh have bagged the classic remake titled ‘Ram Lakhan’! Rohit Shetty will be directing ‘Ram Lakhan’, the Bollywood film full of celebrities, and an official announcement from the filmmaker is awaited.
