Amitabh Bachchan’s name was dragged in the controversial scandal of 1980s when Bofors, a Swiss arms manufacturer, landed a 15 billion dollar deal to provide Howitzer guns to India. Recently it was revealed that Amitabh Bachchan’s name had been falsely planted in the scam. Bachchan, who writes a daily blog, decided to post about the bitter ordeal of 25 years, again! “Twenty-five years after the judgement on Bofors, the main prosecutor on the matter from Sweden, where it all began, makes public the statement that the ‘Bachchan name was planted, by the investigating team’! Will they be able to bear the pain of living the life of a falsely tainted individual for 25 years?! When there was the opportunity of the law, where were you, where were you, Mr Accusator? Why did you not show your face to prove your pointless points? And how long will the celebrity be the ‘whipping horse’ of every and any controversy?” wrote Bachchan reliving the ghosts of the scandalous Bofors past. Amitabh Bachchan also vehemently wrote how some people had the “gall” and liberty to drag a celebrity into “coals of accusations” without any legal knowledge and also about the Bofors scam.
