Vivek Dahiya and Divyanka Tripathi are all set to get married in the first week of July in Bhopal. While Divyanka has been shopping for her marriage, Vivek has been concentrating on his new TV show, ‘Kawach — Kali Shaktiyon Se’. In a tell-all interview, Vivek Dahiya reveals all about his intimate Bhopal wedding and his ladylove, Divyanka.
On his ladylove Divyanka
The more I spend time with her, the more I discover her. Divyanka finds a balance between personal and professional life. She deprives herself of sleep so that we can spend time together. I feel bad but she leaves me ecstatic. I don’t know if I will be able to spend time by sacrificing seven hours of my sleep. She is a very passionate person, grounded and humble, despite where she is. One can compare Divyanka to her onscreen character of Ishita. When I told my parents about her, they said she looks very good onscreen, wonder how she will be in real life. After meeting her, I told my parents that she is similar to Ishita and my parents insisted that I tie the knot soon.
I cannot compare myself to her, I am 10 years younger to her as far as experience is concerned. There is a long way to go and a lot to learn. But there is no feeling of insecurity around her. I look at it positively, I have got a mentor at home. I consult her and she is a very positive critic. She is very sensitive with the way she conveys constructive criticism, so it is very good. Deep down inside, I anticipate and look for Divyanka’s validation because she is a decade old and a master in this line of business. I have an amazing wife-to-be.

Marriage preparations
I have been given very limited responsibility from my family because of my work constraints. Everything is happening on WhatsApp… be it approvals, costumes, decorations and venues. We are keeping it very traditional and by the book. Both our families are on the same page and the wedding will take place in Bhopal. Divyanka wanted the marriage to be traditional with a ‘baraat’ to come, hence that’s how we are doing it. I am very happy with all the preparations.
Wedding outfit
My wedding dress and all other costumes will be done by one designer in Vile Parle (Mumbai). Divyanka is getting her trousseau done from different places. My mother and she have been co-ordinating, but I have very limited knowledge. We aim to be colour co-ordinated. Divyanka will be deciding her colour and I may just wear a similar coloured pocket square or a tie.
Both of us are over the moon for the wedding. We are just counting days. I am getting the jitters that I am not getting the jitters. I am getting that kind of stress that you would get from no stress, no cold feet, or nothing. Firstly, I am genuinely not finding time to think about it too much and secondly, I am just a very spontaneous person and don’t really plan things in advance. I don’t think much about the future, I rather cherish everyday as it comes.
Honeymoon plans
We are not going on a break straight away, it will take some time. I am only getting seven days off and Divyanka is getting 10 days off. So eventually, once the show (‘Kawach’) gets construed then maybe we will take some time and go away for long. I have certain locations in mind, there are a few plans but I cannot share anything as it is meant to be a surprise for her.
Vivek Dahiya and Divyanka Tripathi have been house-hunting since a few days to shift after their marriage. The couple has shortlisted a few apartments and will shift soon after their marriage.
