Vidya Balan and husband-filmmaker Siddharth Roy Kapur are planning to make a film based on Sagarika Ghose’s book, Indira – India’s Most Powerful Prime Minister. Buzz is that Vidya Balan will face the camera as the erstwhile Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi. In an official statement, the actress said, “I am happy to have acquired the rights to Sagarika Ghose’s ‘Indira’. I haven’t decided yet whether it should be made into a film or a web series, but that will take a while anyway.” Sagarika Ghose’s book chronicles tales from the Emergency of 1975 to Indira Gandhi’s failed marriage and her relationship with son Sanjay Gandhi.
