Toilet: Ek Prem Katha Box Office collection – Akshay’s social message sails through
Social film, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ is a hit on Box Office, collecting Rs 50 crore in the first three days of its release; makes Akshay Kumar-Twinkle Khanna’s bank manager happy!
Akshay Kumar’s film with a social message, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ seems to have finally ended the dry spell at the Bollywood Box Office. The film collected Rs 13.10 crore on its first day, and with positive word of mouth, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ witnessed a massive growth, collecting Rs 17.10 crore on Saturday and Rs 21.25 crore on Sunday. With a solid Rs 51.45 crore in its opening weekend itself, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ is proving to be a profitable venture for its makers. Shree Narayan Singh-directed film released on around 3,000 screens across the country and was made in a budget of Rs 18 crore.
Twinkle Khanna lauded Akshay’s film in her typical tongue-in-cheek humour, “So even the Box Office needed this ‘Toilet’ eventually to break free from its constipation – #ToiletEkPremKatha, hit, hit hooray!” Twinkle’s post seemed to take a sarcastic dig at the recent Box Office failures like ‘Tubelight’, ‘Jagga Jasoos’ and ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’.
