Sudhir Mishra is gearing up for a twisted presentation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic novel ‘Devdas’, with his upcoming venture titled ‘DaasDev’. The Bollywood film features an impressive cast, with Richa Chadha playing Paro, Aditi Rao Hydari as Chandramukhi and Rahul Bhat portraying the legendry Dev, on whom the novel was based. Sudhir Mishra, who is known for his projects like ‘Chameli’ (2003) and ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’ (2005), has given the classic ‘Devdas’ a modern flip and set the story of ‘DaasDev’ against the backdrop of politics in today’s time. The film is set in Uttar Pradesh and will explore the theme of power and politics with a thriller storyline. ‘DaasDev’ is set to hit the screens on February 16, 2018. Even though writer-director Sudhir Mishra has done special appearances and cameos in a few films, ‘DaasDev’ may not see him appearing on the silver screen.
