An annoyed Sonu Nigam tweeted about loudspeakers being used for Azaan (call for Muslim prayer) on Monday. While he faced a lot of backlash, the matter has taken an even murkier twist! According to a DNA report, Muslim leader Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi, Vice President, West Bengal Minority United Council, has issued a fatwa and offered to pay Rs 10 lakh to the person who would shave Sonu Nigam’s hair, put a garland of old torn shoes around his neck and make him tour around the country! Taking this challenge of the Muslim cleric way too seriously, Sonu Nigam has invited celebrity hairstylist Hakim Aalim to his residence and shave his head! Sonu Nigam says, “Today at 2 pm, Aalim will come to my place, and shave my head. Keep your 10 lakhs ready, Maulvi.” The popular singer has also welcomed the media to cover this ‘event’.

With the Azaan controversy, more trouble has been brewing for Sonu Nigam as an FIR has been filed against him in the Aurangabad district of Maharashtra. In one of his tweets, Sonu had clarified that his statement was against the use of loud speakers and not for the call of prayer. He adds, “Dear everyone, your stand exposes your own IQ. I stand by my statement that loudspeakers should not be allowed in mosques and temples. Period.” But with this new fatwa by the Muslim leader and the FIR, controversies and troubles don’t seem to come to an end for Sonu Nigam.
