Sonakshi Sinha made headlines yesterday following a war of words on Twitter with singer Armaan Malik. And all the celebs and cinema fans witnessed this. Sonakshi Sinha was approached by the promoters of Justin Bieber’s Purpose World Tour concert to perform at the opening act during the pop sensation’s tour in India. Sonakshi was supposed to give her vocal chords a new platform and was gearing up to sing in Purpose World Tour with Justin Bieber. Ironically, very senior and versatile singer Kailash Kher had objected to this opining that a professional singer, and not Sonakshi Sinha, should sing with Justin Bieber. There should be a clear difference and line drawn between an actor and a singer. Kailash Kher’s disappointment was very clear in the interviews he gave to other media outlets.
While Sonakshi Sinha made an average singing debut last year with ‘Aaj Mood Ishqholic Hai’, Armaan Malik agreed to Kailash Kher’s objection that a Bollywood actress was approached to perform at a music concert. Armaan: Agree with Kailash Kher sir! Actors are actors and singers are singers. Leave the stage and the mic to us, that’s our playground, not yours.
Sonakshi: Secure artist would always encourage another artist to grow their skills and follow their dreams. Art in any form should not be suppressed. And this is definitely not the same tune you were singing when you wanted me to sing for you.
Armaan: Agree with you, Sonakshi. But I voiced what I felt about how singers are shunned in our country and given lesser importance than actors!

In this entire controversy, Armaan was quick to retort that Sonakshi had confused him with his composer brother Amaal Malik. In the end, Amaal too jumped into the conversation and added, “Armaan never said anything about collaborating. I must’ve said, but we together never went and asked for anything!”
While their war of words on Twitter ended at that, Sonakshi Sinha decided to clarify her stand on her participation in the Purpose World Tour. The Bollywood actress had expressed her excitement for the event but she never really confirmed her presence. Late last evening, Sonakshi clarified, “Firstly, I am not performing at the Bieber concert. It was speculated because I was approached and carried forward by publications and portals even after I stated in various interviews that it’s not happening. Secondly, I am an actor who loves music, who loves to perform and who loves to sing. And if anyone has a problem with that, in the wise words of baba Bieber himself… they can go ‘love’ themselves. Over and out.”
As the war of words between Sonakshi Sinha and Armaan Malik ended on Twitter, so did all the speculations of the celeb and cinema actress performing in the Justin Bieber concert, Purpose World Tour.
