Sanjay Dutt’s biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor has been making headlines ever since director Rajkumar Hirani announced the film. The trade buzz suggested that the yet untitled film may release on March 30. However, Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani’s action packed outing, ‘Baaghi 2’, has been fast-tracked and may now release on March 30 instead of the earlier scheduled date of April 27. It will thus avoid a major tiff with ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ and ‘2.0’ both are releasing at the box office around the same time. Rumours are rife that Fox Star Studios, which is backing ‘Baaghi 2’ and the Dutt biopic, decided to postpone the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer project and instead gave prominence to the action packed ‘Baaghi 2’. Directed by choreographer-turned-filmmaker Ahmed Khan, ‘Baaghi 2’ features alleged lovers Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani and hence their chemistry will be something to watch out for. In the meantime, new release date for the Sanjay Dutt biopic is yet to be announced.
