Salman Khan has inked a massive deal with electronics major Amazon, announcing a content exclusive contract with its online video streaming service, Amazon Prime Video. With this collaboration, all films made by Sallu’s company Salman Khan Ventures, released after ‘Tubelight’, will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. After the theatrical release, Amazon will own the exclusive rights to showcase Salman Khan’s films, two months before satellite or television broadcast or any other form of distribution. Films made by Salman Khan Films in the past, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, ‘Kick’, ‘Jai Ho’ and ‘Hero’ have also been made available on the video platform. While Salman’s last home production ‘Tubelight’ ran into losses, it remains to be seen how this contract with Amazon shapes up with his upcoming ventures. Neither Salman Khan Ventures nor Amazon Prime Video has made available the financial details of their exclusive deal.
Shah Rukh Khan, the other big Khan of Bollywood, has signed up with another video giant, Netflix, giving its users access to all films made by SRK’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment. Salman Khan has jumped into the fray with Amazon in a similar exclusive deal.
