Indian athletes at the Rio Olympics are making the country proud, with wrestler Sakshi Malik winning a Bronze and PV Sindhu getting into the finals of women’s badminton singles. When Sushmita Sen was asked to react to acclaimed writer and columnist Shobhaa De’s tweet about the Indian athletes at the Olympics, the former Miss Universe said, “Everyone in this world, who has achieved something, have done so because they have blinders on to negativity. They only see what is positive and keep going in that direction. They fall and get up, but they don’t give up. You have to keep your focus on good things and you will own good things.”
When India was hit with the medal drought till a few days back, Shobhaa De’s twitter account read, “Goal of Team India at the Olympics: Rio jao. Selfies lo. Khaali haath wapas aao. What a waste of money and opportunity.” She was later trolled on the Internet by most, calling it a very insensitive tweet.
