‘Rangoon’ collected Rs 5.6 crore on its first day and Rs 5 crore on the second day of its release at the Box Office, becoming a slow starter even after big celebs and cinema stars working in the Bollywood film
‘Rangoon’ is no masala entertainer and hence bringing in good amount of money at the Bollywood Box Office is going to be tough for the film’s director Vishal Bhardwaj. The film recorded a slow start on Friday even after being a holiday of Maha Shivaratri. ‘Rangoon’ collected Rs 5.6 crore on its first day and on Saturday it managed only Rs 5 crore at the ticket windows. Thus, ‘Rangoon’ has only collected a little over Rs 10 crore at the Box Office in two days of its release despite being a long weekend. While the film has not recorded any massive growth at the Box Office, trade buzz suggests that the film’s fate is more or less sealed for a poor performance. ‘Rangoon’ stars an impressive cast comprising celebs and cinema stars Kangana Ranaut, Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. But even this trio doesn’t seem to have managed to bring in the audiences at the theatres, and the required moolah for its makers.
