Ranbir Kapoor justifies father Rishi Kapoor’s outburst on Anurag Basu for Jagga Jasoos
Ranbir Kapoor feels that since father Rishi Kapoor is emotional and hence said whatever he wanted to, it does not necessarily mean that Ranbir himself agrees to that
Rishi Kapoor blasted Anurag Basu after his son’s maiden home production, ‘Jagga Jasoos’, failed miserably at the Box Office. Sharing his views on the controversy, Ranbir says, “My father is a very emotional man. Whatever he said was to protect me in some way. I don’t necessarily agree with what he did, or what he said.” While Ranbir has washed his hands off production, he states that ‘Jagga Jasoos’ has been a learning curve for him, “‘Jagga Jasoos’ is something that we worked on for three-and-a-half years. We all were aware of what we were doing and how it was taking shape. Sometimes you succeed, sometimes you fail. But I don’t look at this like a failure. The experience of working with Anurag Basu and the team has given me a lot. Anurag and I worked together on ‘Barfi!’ which was a hit. But there is no formula to success and nobody has cracked that formula, to tender hit, either.” After justifying father Rishi Kapoor’s comments against Anurag Basu, and putting the failure ‘Jagga Jasoos’ behind, Ranbir is now looking forward to working in and releasing Sanjay Dutt’s biopic.
