Ranbir Kapoor has been announced as the brand ambassador for an online travel portal. Salman Khan had shot for extensive advertisements with Yatra Online Private Limited, better known as yatra.com. It is not that Sallu is losing his sheen, but a younger celeb, who is also a youth icon, seems to be the need of the hour. Since a rival brand, Make My Trip, roped in youngsters Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh as the faces of the company, and to fend off competition, youth icon Ranbir Kapoor is publicised as the fresh face of the brand, replacing Salman Khan. While Salman may have competed his contract with the brand, Yatra seems to have made the correct move by engaging Ranbir, who has been a part of several travel related films in the past. And hence could be an ideal choice.
Being an ambassador is not all for Ranbir Kapoor as there’s more which is making this celeb and cinema star a hot property in Bollywood. Ranbir Kapoor is making the headlines with his neat transformation playing Sanjay Dutt for the latter’s biopic. A bulked up Ranbir recently shot for a commercial for an innerwear brand Micromax. Interestingly, a few years ago it was Hrithik Roshan who endorsed this comfort wear brand and now Ranbir has lapped up the offer. With this latest acquisition, the much in demand Ranbir Kapoor has joined the ‘ganji’ gang of Bollywood, where celebs like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Varun Dhawan, Ranveer Singh, Sunny Deol and Govinda have endorsed the male undershirt at some point of time in their career. Buzz even suggests that advertisers were keen to rope in a bulky Ranbir over his lean figure for the endorsement of vests and innerwear, and hence waited for his ‘Dutt transformation’ before making the Bollywood celeb a hot property in the world of advertising and brand endorsements.
