Mahesh Bhatt has received a death threat and extortion call from a person who has threatened to kill his daughter Alia Bhatt and wife Soni Razdan. Acting swiftly on the threat, Mahesh Bhatt was quick to file an FIR at the Juhu Police Station on Wednesday evening. Confirming the same, Mahesh Bhatt shares, “A bolt from the blue in the form of an extortion call and threat to my family was nipped in the bud by the Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh police in tandem. Gratitude! All of us is better than one of us!”

Mahesh Bhatt reportedly received an extortion call which demanded a payment of Rs 50 lakhs or the caller would fire bullets and kill his family and celebs and cinema world’s stars Alia Bhatt and Soni Razdan. While the call of extortion and death threat was made on February 26, Mahesh Bhatt first thought that it was a prank. In the past, celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Salman Khan are said to have received threats from the underworld.
