Kapil Sharma’s troubles don’t seem to end, thanks to his tweet on corruption in the BMC. While the celebrity TV star faces charges for flouting rules himself, fellow Bollywood actor Arbaaz Khan has come out in his support. At the Eid celebrations to mark the success of ‘Freaky Ali’, when Arbaaz Khan was asked to comment on Kapil Sharma’s corruption controversy, he said, “Everyone has their own opinion and they are ready to face the consequences for it. Not being in the media, if he (Kapil Sharma) is exposing something then why are you blaming him?”
Lending his support to Kapil Sharma, Arbaaz Khan went on to argue that freedom of expression has come at the cost of being crucified by people. “These days everyone says something or the other, but it is important to bring out the right meaning of it. By misinterpreting it, the matter gets worse. We say that we should have the freedom to express. But when we do express then people will come to get you. If you don’t think that a certain statement is right then leave the matter. Why crucify it? The rule of democracy is that we are allowed to express ourselves; but people will crucify you. On the one hand we say that our country is very tolerant but on the other, if you express yourself then no one will forgive you. So where is the tolerance?” said Arbaaz Khan.
