Two years ago, John Abraham ambitiously spoke about his football movie ‘1911’. The Bollywood film was to be helmed by ‘Vicky Donor’ director Shoojit Sircar. But it now seems like the filmmaker is no longer associated with the project. Trade reports suggested that John Abraham had shelved ‘1911’ for a while, which he is now planning to revive and is in search for a director to collaborate on the project. John will portray the passionate footballer Shibdas Bhaduri in the movie. Shibdas was the captain of Mohun Bagan AC in the historic match of 1911 IFA Shield Final. Mohun Bagan had defeated the East Yorkshire Regiment with a score of 2-1, and became the first Asian team to win the competition.
