Vaani Kapoor marked her entry in Bollywood with Yash Raj Films’ (YRF) ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ in 2013, but the film tanked at the box office. After this launching pad, YRF’s head honcho Aditya Chopra gave yet another push to her career with his directorial ‘Befikre’ in 2016, which turned out to be another box office flop. Thanks to the two back-to-back duds, no other filmmaker outside the Yash Raj camp seemed keen to sign up the sultry actress but YRF has been pushing her name in their home production projects despite all odds. Rumours were rife that Vaani Kapoor was suggested to play the lead in YRF’s ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ but the recommendation faced some stiff opposition from Aamir Khan, who got irked with her name. Fatima Sana Shaikh eventually bagged the role.
Moving on from there, Vaani’s name was listed as the lead in Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff-starrer actioner, once again backed by Yash Raj Films. And if this is not enough, Vaani is now also the top contender for yet another project produced by YRF, which will reportedly star Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. Vaani is the newest blue-eyed girl of the YRF camp as she even shot for a music video, ‘Main Yaar Manana Ni’. The production house seems to have pulled out all the stops to promote the actress. Vaani won almost four awards for Best Debut at various award shows, but it seems like her career is hanging on with the help from one of the biggest production houses of the industry, Yash Raj Films.
