Family court in Mumbai granted divorce to Himesh Reshammiya and Komal who parted ways after 22 years of marriage. The ex-couple confirmed that the divorce was mutual. Himesh and Komal issued an official statement after the move.
Himesh Reshammiya:
Sometimes in life mutual respect becomes very important and giving due respect to our relationship Komal and I have amicably decided to part ways legally as husband and wife. There is no problem whatsoever with this decision and members of our family have respected our decision. Komal is and will always remain a part of our family and I will always be a part of her family.
Komal:
Himesh and I completely respect each other and have jointly decided to part ways legally. I will always be a part of his family and the same is with him and my family. There have been compatibility issues in our marriage but we respect each other immensely. No one else should be dragged into this matter and held responsible for this decision. The reason for our marriage not working is only and only compatibility. Sonia is not responsible for this at all and our son Swayam and our family love Sonia just like a family member.
TV actress Sonia Kapoor was rumoured be the lady for whom Himesh ended his marriage with Komal. While Komal ruled all rumours of extra-marital affair, Sonia too shared a stated, “Himesh’s family is my family and I love them.”
Sources close to the family say that post-divorce Komal will stay in the same building where Himesh currently resides.
