Here’s why Ranveer Singh is silent on Padmavati controversy
Ranveer Singh, despite being one of the lead actors in ‘Padmavati’, is silent on the film’s controversy as the celebrity has been asked to keep quiet to avoid further damage
Ranveer Singh, who plays the role of the Muslim ruler Alauddin Khilji in the controversial movie ‘Padmavati’, has refused to share his views on the ongoing protests and the subsequent delay in the film’s release. “I am 200 percent with the film and with my director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Given that it is a very sensitive time right now, I have been specifically asked not to say anything. Whatever official communication with regards to the film needs to be made, it will come from the producers,” stated Ranveer. ‘Padmavati’ is reportedly made on a whopping budget of Rs 190 crore and has been postponed indefinitely from its earlier release date of December 1.
Buzz suggests that the co-producer Viacom18 is planning to release ‘Padmavati’ next year and hence all promotions for the movie will gradually stop for the time being.
