Mohit Suri’s next – ‘Half Girlfriend’, an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s bestselling novel by the same name sets out to explore the ‘in-between’ space in relationships today. For the first time, Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor are cast opposite each other in this intense-musical romance. “As I observed young people, I saw a lot of situations where people were more than just friends but not quite in a relationship. When you find someone special but you are not yet fully together. I felt there was something needed between a friend and a girlfriend. Hence, ‘Half Girlfriend’ was born. says Chetan Bhagat, who’s previous screen adaptation ‘2 States’, was a blockbuster.
Director Mohit Suri adds, “‘Half Girlfriend’ is a take on the unexplored, grey area of relationships today.
