Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapur starrer ‘Fitoor’ hit the screens today, clashing with Divya Khosla Kumar’s ‘Sanam Re’. Buzz is that both the films have had a slow opening at the box office. ‘Fitoor’ opened on 1,500 screens and despite heavy promotions and big names being attached to the film, it only recorded a 15 percent occupancy. On the other hand, Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam driven ‘Sanam Re’ released on approximately 2,000 screens but could not manage to pull audiences to the theatres either.
Trade buzz suggests that Abhishek Kapoor directed ‘Fitoor’ is a favourite in the metros and multiplexes, so the evening shows of Friday may bring in some good news for the film.
Moreover, with Valentine’s Day on Sunday, both these love stories will be fighting it out at the box office. We promise to keep you posted!
