Shahid Kapoor started shooting for ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ with much enthusiasm and wrapped up the first schedule of the film in Uttarakhand earlier this year. The movie’s second schedule was to begin last month, however it never took off. Produced by Prernaa Arora and Arjun N Kapoor’s KriArj Entertainment, ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ was rumoured to be in financial trouble, just like the various other projects of KriArj, namely ‘Kedarnath’ and ‘Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran’. While director Shree Narayan Singh was unable to kick start the next schedule, his cast moved on to other projects. Shahid Kapoor has begun working for the Hindi remake of ‘Arjun Reddy’ while Shraddha Kapoor is reportedly off to Abu Dhabi for a 50-day schedule of her next film ‘Saaho’. With the scattered star cast and no sign of the next shoot, it will be a difficult task for the makers to keep up with the August 31 release date of ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’.
