Ekta Kapoor’s production house, Balaji Motion Pictures produced a slew of flops in 2016, giving fodder to rumours of the filmmaker shutting down the section. However it seems like Ekta Kapoor’s film unit is bouncing back with promising projects. After backing a film like ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’, Balaji Motion Pictures is set to produce a girl gig, ‘Veere Di Wedding’, with a starry cast of Sonam Kapoor and newbie mommy Kareena Kapoor Khan. The team is set to begin shooting for the film very soon. On the other hand, Ekta’s banner will launch Sara Ali Khan in Bollywood with ‘Kedarnath’, as she will be starring with Sushant Singh Rajput. So all the talks of Balaji Motion Pictures shutting down may rest for a while, as finally the queen of TV soaps seems to have taken the reins in her own hands to revive the banner now.
