Deepika Padukone’s first project after marriage will be the heartfelt tale of an acid attack survivor. The film is titled ‘Chhapaak’ and will be directed by Meghna Gulzar. Meghna has to her credit films like ‘Talvar’ (2015) and ‘Raazi’ (2018). Vikrant Massey will play an important part in ‘Chhapaak’, an activist who campaigns against acid violence. Deepika will not just portray real life victim Laxmi on the silver screen but will also be producing this project. ‘Chhapaak’ is expected to go on the floors in March 2019 and will mainly be shot in Mumbai and Delhi. While earlier it was rumoured that Rajkummar Rao will play a part in the film, there has been no official confirmation on his casting.
