Deepika Padukone is hitting jackpot one after the other, even so in Hollywood. The actress is already a superstar and one of the most saleable, busiest and wealthiest amongst all in Bollywood. But this hasn’t deterred the A-lister from going places. Hollywood’s STXfilms studio, a division of Eros STX Global Corporation, has approached Deepika for a romantic comedy. While the star has already said yes to this developing story, she will also produce the said flick under her Ka Productions. Deepika’s production house has films like ‘Chhapaak’, ‘The Intern’ remake and ‘83’ under its umbrella.
Talking about her ambitious Hollywood plans, Deepika chirps, “Ka Productions was founded with the aim to develop and produce purposeful content with global appeal. I’m thrilled to be partnering with STXfilms and Temple Hill Productions, who share Ka’s ambition and creative vision and look forward to bringing impactful and dynamic cross-cultural stories to the world.” This is not the first time that the actress will be turning Hollywood. Her English debut film was ‘XXX: The Return of Xander Cage’ with Vin Diesel in 2017.
Far away from Hollywood, Deepika’s Bollywood journey is as busy as it can get. The actress has as many as five big films coming up in near future. While her ‘83’ opposite real-life husband Ranveer Singh is complete, ‘Pathan’ against Shah Rukh Khan is in the filming stage. Shakun Batra’s yet untitled film is also said to be complete whereas in multi-starrer ‘Cirkus’ will see Deepika in a cameo. Last will be Deepika’s bilingual movie with Nag Ashwin before plunging into ‘The Intern’ and later into Hollywood neck-deep.
