Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!: Shubhangi Atre Poorey replaces Shilpa Shinde as Angoori

Shilpa Shinde made a lot of headlines after moving on from comedy TV show ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!’. The actress cited issues with the show’s producer Binaifer Kohli and refused to report on the sets of ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!’. Rumours were also rife that because of her rude behaviour, Shilpa Shinde has been banned from working in the Indian TV industry and that no one would associate with her in the future.

 Cine & Television Artistes’ Association, popularly known as CINTAA, which handles such matters, deny taking any drastic measures. CINTAA secretary Sushant Singh says, “We cannot ban anyone from working in the industry. These are all rumours, it is not our jurisdiction! How can an institution come ahead and decide that we will not let a person work? The joint dispute settlement committee had only decided that she will continue to shoot.” While the actress did not report back on the sets, after a month-long wait the makers of ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!’ have got in a replacement.

Shubhangi Atre Poorey will now be playing the popular character of Angoori Bhabhi on the popular TV show ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!’. While Shilpa Shinde gave life to the show by playing the character of Angoori Bhabhi, it will be a challenge for Shubhangi Atre to step into her shoes.

Ironically, in 2013, Shubhangi Atre had replaced Shilpa Shinde in yet another TV show. Shubhangi was roped in to replace Shilpa Shine, who played Koyal Ghotak Narayan in SAB TV’s comedy show ‘Chidiya Ghar’.

Shubhangi Atre Poorey has already shot for ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!’, with &TV already airing the promos of the actress as Angoori Bhabhi. While her face is being hidden, with back shown and voice heard, expectations are high with Shubhangi Atre playing Angoori Bhabhi in ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!’.
