Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi-starrer ‘Bank Chor’ marked a poor collection at the Box Office. On the first day of the film, it could withdraw only Rs 1.40 crore, out of which, Rs 50-60 lakhs were contributed from the Mumbai circuit alone. Saturday marked a slight increase in the numbers for ‘Bank Chor’, as the film collected Rs 1.65 crore. However, with the big cricket match of India vs Pakistan on Sunday, the numbers dipped to Rs 1.35 crore. In all, yet another Yash Raj Films seems to have tanked at the Box Office with a total of mere Rs 4.40 crore by the end of first weekend. Come Friday and Salman Khan’s biggie ‘Tubelight’ will hit the screens, making it even tougher for any other film to survive at the ticket windows.

‘Bank Chor’ was released on about 700 screens pan-India and is made at a modest budget of approximately Rs 15 crore. Out of the total budget, the film was made in about 10 crores, whereas Rs 5 crores were allotted to publicity and promotion of ‘Bank Chor’. Going by the current Box Office figures, ‘Bank Chor’ might just manage to break-even, lest being termed as a hit.
