One of the most popular shows of Colors, ‘Balika Vadhu’ is reportedly going off air. The TV show in India started off with the launch of Colors channel and has been its longest running programme. Buzz is that the makers are planning to launch a fresh concept to replace this daily soap drama.
‘Balika Vadhu’ started airing with a social issue of child marriage and went on to focus on several other causes like education and widow remarriage. Over the years, many big names like Surekha Sikri, Anup Soni, Smita Bansal and Satyajit Sharma among others of the TV industry have been associated with this show. ‘Balika Vadhu’ has also been a great career catalyst for actors like Avika Gor, Pratyusha Banerjee, Toral Rasputra, Shashank Vyas and Sidharth Shukla.
Since ‘Balika Vadhu’, which enjoyed real good TRPs and pulled in many audiences for the channel, is as old as the Colors channel itself, it remains to be seen if they will be able to replace it with another equally well-accepted show in future or not. This will be a challenge to Colors in which they will have to pass with flying colours.
