Salman Khan is currently surrounded with another controversy for his statement comparing his shooting stress of ‘Sultan’ to that of a rape victim. During one of the media interactions, Salman Khan spoke about his ‘Sultan’ routine stating, “When I used to walk out of that ring, it used to be actually like a raped woman walking out.” This statement has put the actor in hot waters with National Commission for Women (NCW) seeking an apology. And now, Salman’s younger brother Arbaaz Khan has come out in his defence.

Recently when Arbaaz Khan was questioned about Salman Khan’s rape comment, Arbaaz flared up stating that he is not responsible to answer everything, “Not every incident that happens with Salman, I am supposed to be answerable to that, whether he is getting married or not, or who is his girlfriend. Salman is 50 years old, he says things according to what he thinks is right. I don’t know where Salman is, I have not put a GPS on him.”

The actor-director sibling has worked with Salman Khan in several films and tried to defend his brother’s statements. Arbaaz said, “There are a few things that we say in the flow, but the intention should be seen. I have no doubt that he did not have any wrong intentions with all that he said. At times you say a few things out of context but you do not mean wrong. If you become over sensitive about this then you can create a controversy out of everything.” Having said that, Arbaaz Khan also hopes that Salman will clarify what he said, “I am sure Salman must have realised that the comparison that he made was not appropriate. And he will decide if he feels the need to apologise or not. I don’t think it is fair to give my opinion. Maybe he has said it out of context, and mistakenly done so, then he should probably give a justification. But I don’t think I am entitled to comment saying Salman has to apologise. Now that it has spiralled into a huge controversy, he should answer because people look up to him. Salman has got a lot of fan following and is also a youth icon. So if he has made a statement which is not appropriate then I think in time he will issue a statement.”

While Arbaaz Khan was not too happy to react to Salman Khan’s controversy, their father Salim Khan was quick to apologise on his son’s behalf. The 80 years old screenwriter had posted a series of Tweets apologising for Salman Khan’s blunder rape metaphor. Commenting on this gesture, Arbaaz said, “Salim saab is a father. At times even when people feel that they have not done anything wrong, they apologise. This is because they feel they have hurt others. Every time you apologise does not mean that you are genuinely sorry about what you have said or done. Rather sometimes that is so because you have hurt someone’s sentiments.”
