Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu’s Pink gets 4 verbal cuts from Censor

Use of abusive words and derogatory language like ‘saali’ and bitch for women, according to the Censor Board, makes ‘Pink’ get four cuts

Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Pink’ has received a UA certificate from the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Buzz is that, that the Bollywood film has got four verbal cuts, owing to the abusive language used. The four cuts have been awarded for the extreme language used to address women, which the Censor Board thought was derogatory for females. Words like ‘saali’, ‘phaad de unki’ and bitch in ‘Pink’ have been censored by the Censor Board of Film Certification. In recent times the CBFC has faced the ire for cuts awarded to ‘Udta Punjab’.

Celebrity filled ‘Pink’ is directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and is produced by filmmaker Shoojit Sircar. ‘Pink’ highlights the plight of women living in urban cities. The Bollywood movie is based in Delhi, with Taapsee Pannu playing the lead. After the cuts, ‘Pink’ is set for release on September 16 and will clash with Mahesh Bhatt’s horror film ‘Raaz Reboot’ starring Emraan Hashmi and Kriti Kharbanda.
