India bagged its first Olympic medal this year with Sakshi Malik getting the Bronze in women’s wrestling 58kg category. Amitabh Bachchan, who has been encouraging Indian athletes participating at the Rio Olympics 2016, says, “It is not an easy task to get up there and perform the way they are performing. I really applaud the fact that they are able to bring the name of the country on an international platform, it is very credible. It is a tough job and extremely laudable that we have had so many talents representing the country at the Olympics. Medals are not everything in life, this experience and exposure will help them a lot.” Lauding them, Amitabh Bachchan also adds that he is hopeful that Indian athletes will perform better next time when the Olympics are held in Japan.
