Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar had teamed up for ‘Kesari’, a film based on the Battle of Saragarhi. Salman however backed out of the project as co-producer at a later date. When asked about Sallu’s association with the project, Akshay informs, “We couldn’t do it. So now Karan and I are making the film. I will begin shooting for ‘Kesari’ in January.” Soon after he backed out of ‘Kesari’, rumours of a cold war between Salman and Akki were rife. However, squashing all gossip, Akshay stepped out last night for a special screening of Salman’s recently released film, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’.
As he starts working on ‘Kesari’, Akshay Kumar’s upcoming release ‘PadMan’ is set to hit the screens, on January 26. His film will release alongside director Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Aiyaary’. Commenting on the box office conflict, Akshay adds, “Both the films are absolutely different. Neeraj is a very dear friend of mine, there is nothing like a clash. There are around 4,500 to 5,000 screens in India, so there is no clash.”
