Akshay Kumar is one of the first celebs to resume shoot post the lockdown is over. Akshay will start shooting with ‘Bell Bottom’ in as soon as July. Mission Begin Again and Unlock 1.0, as the Maharashtra and Indian governments call it, will also see Bollywood gradually opening up to film shoots. Akki being one of the brand ambassadors of many government causes, is leading by example. He will work under the direction of Ranjit Tewari in ‘Bell Bottom’. If international flights start operation in India and across the world then the actor will fly out to London in the coming month to shoot for the film.
‘Bell Bottom’ is a remake of the Kannada film with the same name which had released in 2019. Akshay Kumar-starrer is to release in 2021. In November last year, Akki had shared, “Get ready to go back to the 80s and hop onto a roller-coaster spy ride, ‘Bell Bottom’! Releasing on 22nd January, 2021,” on his Instagram handle. The Bollywood flick is co-produced by Nikkhil Advani, Vashu and Jackky Bhagnani along with Deepshikha Deshmukh. ‘Bell Bottom’ is a spy thriller and is expected to be edge-of-the-seat film. For those who joined-in late, director Ranjit is known to helm Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Lucknow Central’ in 2017. Akshay, in the meantime, is inundated with many Bollywood films. The actor has slew of movies like ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘Laxmmi Bomb’, ‘Prithviraj’ and ‘Atrangi Re’, apart from ‘Bell Bottom’. The makers of ‘Sooryavanshi’ and ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ were contemplating releasing the films on over-the-top (OTT) platforms like Amazon Prime and Netflix. Owing to multiple delays in completing work on the pending projects, thanks to the country-wide lockdown, celebs and cinemas are incurring heavy losses. While Akhay Kumar’s ‘Bell Bottom’ is yet to start next schedule, ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ is ready and in all probability with release on OTT.
