Akshay Kumar terms Marathi industry bigger than Hindi cinema!

Justifying his statement, Akshay Kumar says that Marathi movies make 200-300 percent more profit than the Hindi cinema, and hence is a bigger entertainment industry in those terms

Bollywood celebrity Akshay Kumar attended the launch of a Marathi film and couldn’t stop praising the regional cinema industry. “I think Marathi industry is a bigger industry than Hindi cinema. We have a big budget and make profit of maybe 60 percent. Marathi films have a budget of 2-7 crores but their profit margin is 200-300 percent more,” says Akshay Kumar. The celebrity Bollywood actor goes on to state that he plans to remake several Marathi movies into Hindi, “The thinking of Marathi cinema is much ahead than the Hindi cinema at the moment. I have taken the rights of some Marathi movies to make it in Hindi.”
