Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has given a nod to Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s comedy drama ‘Fanney Khan’ starring Anil Kapoor. Earlier the buzz suggested that celeb and cinema star Priyanka Chopra had liked ‘Fanney Khan’s’ script but was yet to sign on the dotted line, but now it has been confirmed that Aishwarya Rai will be playing the part. Priyanka is busy honouring her international commitments. She recently signed her third Hollywood film and hence may have let go of Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s project. ‘Fanney Khan’ will bring together the ‘Taal’ pair of Aishwarya Rai and Anil Kapoor after 17 years, though the duo is not romancing each other in ‘Fanney Khan’.
‘Fanney Khan’ will apparently feature celebs and cinema stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anil Kapoor in strong characters, produced by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Cinestaan Film Company and KriArj Entertainment. After the successful run of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ last Diwali, this is the next film signed by Ash. The Bollywood actress is also rumoured to consider a film alongside husband Abhishek Bachchan but there has been no confirmation. Anil Kapoor, on the other hand, is busy shooting for ‘Mubarakan’ and will also feature in Abhinav Bindra biopic with son Harshvardhan Kapoor.
Aishwarya Rai and Anil Kapoor did not pair opposite each other even in ‘Taal’ in the end, and ‘Fanney Khan’ too will not see the celebs and cinema stars as a couple.
