Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ is going all guns blazing at the Bollywood Box Office, earning over Rs 400 crore in its worldwide collection so far. However, Abhay Deol, known for his ‘hatke’ choice of cinema, criticises the importance given to the Box Office collections over creativity. “Why is it that money has become the benchmark of achievement and not creativity? Rs 100 crore means nothing at the end of the day. You can put the right stars and make Rs 100 crore, it is not impossible. It happens over and over again and is not uncommon. But it is very rare to make a film that breaks the mould and that should not be measured by the money it makes,” blasts the celebrity actor. We wonder if it was a dig at Salman Khan starrer ‘Sultan’ which went on to make more than Rs 400 crore worldwide. Abhay Deol will next be seen in ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’.
