On his birthday, celeb and cinema star Aamir Khan opens up about his mother’s special gift, celebrating with the Phogat family and working with Shah Rukh Khan, after a small cake cutting ceremony
Birthday boy Aamir Khan was fast asleep at 12 am, away from all the phone calls and messages, trying to wish this celebrity Bollywood star a very happy birthday. On Aamir Khan’s birthday, falling on 14th March, the 52-year-old actor confesses that he was immersed in a book at 10:30, which he read for 15-20 minutes, before calling it a night, by 11pm. Ironically, Aamir Khan was in no mood to receive birthday wishes at midnight from any of the celebs and cinema stars, as he turned a year older today.
After a small cake cutting ceremony to celebrate his birthday under his house in the building, cinema star Aamir Khan interacted with the media, which has almost become like a ritual every year. Aamir Khan said, “I received a lot of messages and there were missed calls in the morning too, as I was fast asleep by 12 midnight and enjoying it. I like to celebrate my birthday with my family. So this year too the party will include family and friends. Geeta, Babita and Mahavirji (Phogat family) will be joining us for the celebrations, our family has become bigger.” Very few know that Aamir Khan receives a special gift from his mother every year on his birthday. Revealing the same, the ‘Dangal’ star said, “My Mom gives me the same gift every year. I love Seekh Kebab made by her. So she makes that every year for me on my birthday.”
Even at 52, born on 14 March 1965, birthday boy Aamir Khan shows great enthusiasm and energy. Age is indeed just a number, claims Mr Perfectionist, as he is known amongst celebs and in cinema circles. “If you feel happy about yourself and your life then age doesn’t matter. For a person to remain excited and curious, and wanting to explore, all those are wonderful things. So it doesn’t matter what age you are,” philosophises Aamir.
Aamir Khan has also been making headlines for a selfie with once an arch-rival, celeb and cinema star Shah Rukh Khan. Rumours were rife that the duo is set to work together. But Aamir refuses it. “I have met Shah Rukh Khan a couple times in the past few months. It was really nice meeting and spending time with him. He recently invited me to his place for a get-together. But we are just meeting as friends. We are not working together,” clarified Aamir Khan on his birthday.
